Illustrious Brother L. V. White was born in Blakely, Georgia and moved to Tampa in October 1952. He served in World War II with the1568 Engineers as a Provost Sergeant, United States Army in Swetsington, Germany. He received an honorable discharge in1946. In 1999 he received a Certificate of Appreciation from the Veterans of Foreign Wars of the United States. He worked eighteen and a half years for the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office and retired with the rank of Sergeant. He was Vice President for REACT Search and Rescue from1969 to 1973. He was President for SONIC Search and Rescue 1973 to 1975. In 1974 Illustrious White received a Certificate of Recognition from the State of Florida Correctional Standards Council. In 1982 he was Vice President of the Fraternal
Order of Police Sheriffs Lodge #108, and in 1983 he became President of the Lodge. In 1983 he received a Certificate of Appreciation for service from Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office.
Illustrious Brother White began his Masonic journey in Tampa,
Florida at Fellowship Lodge #265 on December 11, 1962, and was raised Master Mason on March 19, 1963. In 1995, he served as Worshipful Master of Fellowship Lodge #265. He also served as Worshipful Master of Memorial Lodge #23 during 1993 and 1994. In October 13, 1965 Illustrious Brother White became a member of Tampa Scottish. He served on the Credential and Registration Committee in 979 and became Chairman from 1997 to 2005. In 1984 he became Venerable Master of the Lodge of Perfection and served on the Scottish Rite Temple Association. >He served on the Scottish Rite Executive Committee from1984 to 1986. In 1986 he was commissioned a Kentucky Colonel.
Illustrious Brother White was a member of Egypt Temple Shrine, Land –O-Lutz Shrine Club, and Palma Ceia Chapter #243 Order of Eastern Star. He
received a Certificate of Appreciation from the Land-O-Lutz Shrine Club for service from 1990 to 1996.
